Hearth & Hedge is an independent home and garden publication founded in 2021. We publish carefully researched, plainly written guides on interior design, gardening, home organization, and home improvement — for the people actually doing the work in their own homes and gardens.

Our mission

The internet has more home and garden content than ever, and most of it is shallow, generic, or quietly sponsored. We started Hearth & Hedge because we believe homeowners and renters deserve advice that is rooted in real experience, grounded in evidence, and honest about trade-offs.

Our editorial standards

• Every article is written or reviewed by a credentialed contributor — see our editorial policy for the full process.
• We disclose any affiliate relationships transparently, and they never influence what we recommend.
• Articles are reviewed and updated regularly. The "Updated" date on every piece reflects real revisions, not cosmetic changes.
• We cite primary sources — university extension services, peer-reviewed horticulture, manufacturer specifications — wherever possible.
